Throat carriage rate of Group A beta-haemolytic streptococci among Waikato primary school children

In a study of 789 children, aged 5-11 years at five Waikato schools, who each had a throat swab collected between May and July 1977, Group A beta-haemolytic streptococci were isolated from the throat swabs of 34.5% of children.
