Antibiotic treatment makes no difference to outcomes in people with acute cough

In this study, 3,402 patients who visited their primary care provider due to a cough lasting less than 28 days, 1,464 were prescribed an antibiotic. Symptom severity during the subsequent 28 days was not influenced by whether or not patients were prescribed an antibiotic.
